Winners will win 2 Round trip flights to Korea, full room & board for 3 nights plus meals, and full access to the 2011 R16 Korea Festival. The R-16 Korea is an annual international b-boy tournament and urban arts cultural festival sponsored primarily by the Korea Tourism Organization and the South Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The main event features sixteen B-Boy crews representing fifteen countries competing in a two day tournament for world championship titles in two categories: best crew performance and best crew battle.

The festival features graffiti artists, street wear designers, musical performers and dancers who specialize in hip-hop, popping, locking and other urban arts subcultures from South Korea and other countries.

Created and produced by Cartel Creative, R-16 is a celebration of the creative energy behind urban youth culture. Based on a theme of "Respect" (which is what the "R" in R-16 refers to), the tournament and festivals were first held in 2007 in the city of Seoul. The 2008 event took place in the city of Suwon The 2009 event host is the Metropolitan City of Incheon and the 2010 event was brought back to Seoul City. The event will continue annually, as the Hip Hop culture has recognized South Korean b-boys as a special part of its history.

Have been near comatose since last weekend. Trying to catch up on some emails,

get ready for our next event, and spend some much needed time with alot of our neglected loved ones.

But I don't want to forget about all of you waiting for another fix of content from this year's very

a part of Amoeba Culture and the original supreme team, Korean Hip Hop super crew Dynamic Duo.

Yo, sick flow, sick lyrics, and they definitely got that party vibe down.

SUPREME TEAM

The name Supreme Team may sound cocky to some, but it somehow aptly describes these two extremely talented musicians. The duo is comprised of Simon D, a captivating rapper and husky-voiced vocalist, and E-Sens, nicknamed Korea's Eminem with his witty and biting lyrics. The combination of these two explosive talents has created Supreme Team, which has dominated the underground music scene in Hongdae bars and clubs. Their first album hopes to incorporate not only the manic fans of underground hip hop, but also the general public into their musical world.

Hip hop duo Mighty Mouth presents a more stylish and refined type of hip hop. Two rappers, Shorry J and 237 a.k.a. Sangchu, have built their careers by taking part in a variety of live performances and album productions with Hyun Jin-young and Ju Seok. They take their name “Mighty Mouth” after an American animation about a courageous and clever rodent character “Mighty Mouse.” Their digital single “I Love You” featuring singer/actress Yoon Eun-hye has created quite a sensation among hip hop fans. For awhile now we had this idea to do a poster or some design for a bboy event, R16 in particular, with an X-ray of

a bboy. At first we were trying to just photoshop some bones together but we ran into a wall as it just wasnt looking

right. We gave up on the idea for a bit, and forgot about it but then we randomly found a Korean X-ray specialist

by the name of Dr. Jeong Tae Seop, who had been creating art with X-rays. He kindly offered to help us out and

we convinced Bboy THE END from Gamblerz Crew to let us shoot him full of X-Rays for a couple of hours so we

could get the image you see below. Much Love and thanks to Dr. Jeong and Bboy THE END. We hope THE END

doesn't mutate or something. Or maybe it might have even helped him if you've seen some of his recent battles.

A warm-up party will be held with KANGOL, the official R-16 sponsor. All participating R-16 artists, including MCs, DJs, b-boys, b-girls, poppers, lockers and graffiti artists will join the party,and there will also be fantastic showcases by specially invited b-boy crews and globally renowned DJs.

R16 KOREA 2010 POPPING & LOCKING FINAL ELIMINATION

A contest will be held to determine the final 2 spots to compete in the Round of 16 Popping and Locking Battles during the R16 World Finals. This final preliminary contest will be held at the R16 Warm-up Party on July 2nd, 2010. This Popping & Locking Battle prelim will be open only to foreign nationals and registration will close on July 1st, 2010.
